The World of Strings has something special to offer!
This listing is for a handmade, radiused cejilla flamenca, or classical-style guitar capo.
There is one major difference between this and every other cejilla available: it has a curved radius!
The cejilla in pictures #1 and #2 has a 15" radius, is 1 15/16" in length, and is made from maple and ebony.
This size is compatible with guitars having a fingerboard radius of between 12" and 17".
The cejillas in pictures #3 and #4 are conventional cejillas (flat radius and 2 1/4" long), constructed from ebony and corral, and are shown to further display the variety that we can offer.
What does all this mean to you?
Classical guitars have a wide neck with a flat radius, or perfectly flat fingerboard.
The vast majority of western steel-string acoustic and modern electric guitars have a narrower neck with a curved fingerboard radius.
Traditional cejillas cannot be used effectively on anything but a classical guitar; they are flat as well, matching a classical guitar's fingerboard.
The structure of the cejilla mimics the human finger:
-a thin layer of leather (the skin of the finger)
-a thin layer of felt (the soft tissue under the skin of the finger)
-a narrow block of hand-carved, and often highly decorated wood (the bone of the finger)
A length of nylon guitar string (padded with another thin strip of leather) is affixed to a violin peg at one end, and the body of the cejilla at the other.
The cejilla is placed on the fingerboard, and the length of guitar string is wrapped around the neck of the instrument.
The violin peg is inserted into the hole in the center of the body of the cejilla and tightened.
Tightening pressure is applied evenly and from both sides by this.
Truly a fantastic design, it is almost impossible to pull or push your instrument out of tune with one, and they sound amazing!
When not in use, a cejilla may also simply be loosened and slid beyond the nut of the instrument, rather than completely removed.
This cejilla SOUNDS BETTER than other capos, STAYS IN TUNE BETTER than other capos, and CAN ALWAYS BE REPAIRED if damaged.
They also look like A MILLION BUCKS.
We have made quite a few of these for our local customers, and now need to show them to the whole world!
We have even custom-made these to match particular guitars.
There are always more than a few of these available, and always more coming.
International bidders welcome.
